Acid [Electronic]

Trend within Electronic –mostly Electronic Dance– based around a wet, squelchy sound design originally associated with the Roland TB-303 along with a high resonance setting on a cutoff filter. The use of trippy, psychedelic effects such as flanging, delay, and phaser are often used in acid music to enhance the aquatic, surreal aesthetic of the genre.
Acid music –especially the original style of Acid House, Chicago Acid House– is considered and important and immediate predecessor to Rave which has it's roots in the Acid House Party movement in the United States and the United Kingdom, with the transitory genre, Rave House exemplifying its development.
